In the first few months of this year, hubby and I made the big decision to leave South Africa and move to New Zealand. We have two beautiful and opinionated (read: naughty) little girls. And it was to better their quality of lives that we decided to take on this big mammoth live-changing event! Needless to say, we survived and are now based in Auckland! We arrived on 4 September and have had wonderful magic moments everyday since then as we learn about our new country and explore the amazing places that New Zealand has to offer. We are truly blessed.
Just to add....off the topic...I think I am in love with GARLIC! I mean...I always have loved garlic but now...here in NZ it is SO TASTY and delish....I am in love! I have just roasted two whole cloves of garlic to add to my Chorizo, tomato and baby marrow pasta for the family supper and the whole house is filled with the smell of roasted garlic....YUM! ohhhh....love love!
So let me fill you in on the kids first....number one (aged 7) is a beautiful dark haired little angel (read: naughty) she has cute little freckles all over her nose and is terribly tom-boyish....she loves Star Wars and Pirates and swords but is also very crafty and creative. She bosses the living daylights out of her little sister....number two (aged 2) now she is just gorgeous....talking up a storm, copying everything her sister does and says and in her own special way...bosses her older sister around much the better!
I get to spend the better part of the day with number two and I can safely add that she even bosses me around!!! oh well!
Today is a rather quiet day....washing done, grocery cupboard stocked and house semi-clean....number two is snoozing on the couch and I have supper wrapped! Baked a Chocolate/Caramel cake for after dinner treat and now have time to Blog. Sounds good saying that....like I know what I am doing! hahaha
In a bit I will go and fetch number one from school and then the homework nitemare and Mommy the Homework Monster arrives! I hate homework!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to love doing my own homework when I was at school...but forcing number one to concentrate is just soul destroying! I need to have the patience to make it fun but really.....I am just a human being and doing! Also feel slightly ill now after "testing" the caramel just a liiiittttlllleeee too much! :)
